F. LEROY WHALEY, 66

Marine Mechanic

F. Leroy Whaley, 66, of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his residence.

Born November 23, 1941 in Helena, AR; he came here from Clearwater 20 years ago. He was a self employed marine mechanic. He was a former mason and was the former owner of Bragg Radiator Service in Clearwater. He was an avid fisherman and was the founder and past-president of the Clearwater Bass Team Association; he was also a fishing guide out of Camp Lester Fish Camp.

Leroy was preceded in death by his son, Mark Whaley. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Whaley of Lake Wales; daughter, Patricia Ashley of Riverview; sons, Jesse Whaley of Clearwater; John Perry Jr of Buzzards Bay, MA; Marc Perry of Spindale, NC; sisters, Florene Bragg of FL; niece, Kim Pulaski of Yulee, FL; and 6 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
