Everett Lee Barnes

Everett Lee “Tuffy” Barnes of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at The Groves Center.

Everett was born August 8, 1942 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Charles Pankney and Bertha Leola Bell (Carnell) Barnes and has been a resident of the area for 10 years. He was a retired truck driver and a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Army. He loved to fish and was of the Baptist faith.

Everett was preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie Belle Stewart and Joyce Rice; brother, Charles Barnes. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Nancy Lee Barnes; sons, Thomas Lee Barnes of Thee Rivers, MI and Timothy Lynn and wife, Megan Barnes of Sturgis, MI; brothers, Vernon Barnes, Lynn and wife, Mildred Barnes, Jerry Barnes, Roy Barnes and Allen and wife, Silke Herrod all of Lake Wales .

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
