Evelyn Selena (“Kitty”) MacNab Lopez of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Evelyn was born July 15, 1934, in Flushing, Long Island, New York, to the late Archibald and Evelyn Ferguson MacNab. She arrived in Lake Wales from Miami in 1985 with her then-husband, James Lopez, with whom she co-owned/operated J & E Roofing. Evelyn was of the Protestant faith and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved gardenias and calla lilies, and enjoyed listening to country-music singer Patsy Cline.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, George Perdomo; second husband, Harold F. Peterson; third husband, James Lopez; and brother, Walter Knapp.
Survivors include her brothers, Bill Knapp of Auburn, Alabama, and Chester Knapp; sister-in-law, Marie Knapp; five children, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
