Evell Mills Hadden

Evell Mills Hadden of Frostproof passed peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born May 20, 1924 in Swainsboro, Georgia, to the late James Lee Harrison Mills and Allie Jane Womack Mills. She moved to Florida in 1950 "because oranges paid more than cotton" she said. She worked on a sharecropping farm, canning plant, and was a nurse's aide before retiring from Stanley Home Products. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Evell was preceded in death by husband, Robert Anderson; sons, Dewey Hadden and Carlton "Jack" Hadden. Survivors include sons, Doyle and Doris Hadden of Orlando and Gary and Heather Hadden of Frostproof; daughter in law, Linda Hadden of Winter Haven; sister, Nellie Jennings of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, with interment at Silver Hill following.
