Evan "Mac" Mccarver, Jr.

Evan "Mac" McCarver, Jr. of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center due to an aneurysm.

He was born January 14, 1925 in Malden, Missouri to the late Evan McCarver, Sr. & Clara Dean Hudson McCarver; and came here from Monticello, IN 28 years ago. He was a retired pipe fitter for Steamfitters & Plumbers Local 157 in Terre Haute, IN, was of the Protestant faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Alcyone. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion.

Evan was preceded in death by his wife, Florence McCarver. Survivors include his daughter, Karin Garrett (Ron) of Spring Grove, IL; sons, Daniel McCarver (Rhonda) of Monticello, IN and Michael McCarver of New Albany, IN; companion, Joyce Harris of Lake Wales, FL and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, FL.
