Eugene M. "Gene" Flora

Eugene M. “Gene” Flora of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born June 30, 1932 in Winchester, KY to the late Ernest Leland and Mattie (Skidmore) Flora; he came here in 1992 from Lexington, KY. He was an electrician for Flora Electrical Co., he attended the Wayside Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed playing basketball in his younger years.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jessie Flora; daughter, Lorretta Weatherill of Berrie, Ontario, Canada; two sons, Christopher John Flora of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Eric Leland Flora of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and seven grandchildren all of Canada.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will take place at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky under the direction of Milward Funeral Home.
