Esther Pauline Bachman

February 24, 1920 — July 9, 2009

Esther "Pauline" Bachman of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at The Groves Center.

She was born February 24, 1920 in Carmi, IL to the late Maurice & Bertha (Barlow) Lichtenberger; she came here in 1980 from Calhoun, KY. She was a homemaker and an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Winter Haven. She and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the world and have met many close friends through their travels. She enjoyed writing and had her own newspaper column in Calhoun, KY called "What's Cooking With Pauline" that ran for many years. She was an accomplished water skier, who choreographed and presented a ski show in Calhoun, KY that ran for 20 years, she also taught many children to water ski.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Jesse Carl Bachman; daughter, Linda Kay of Winter Haven; son, R. Keith Bachman (Joyce) of Lake Wales; sisters, Mary Lee of Winter Haven and Betty French of Carmi, IL; 5 grandchildren, Cheri, Carla, Dina, Andy and Jeffrey; 12 great-grandchildren, Crissy, Cassie, Chelsey, Sierra, Lindsay, Sara Holland, Molly, Daniya, Adam, Olivia, Henry and Charlie.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
