Ernest Chapman Bottomley

Ernest C. (Ernie) Bottomley 94, of Lake Wales, FL, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2015. Ernie was born in Providence, RI and moved to Cranston RI at a young age. He lived in Cranston and established a successful electronics business in 1951. He served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He was very proud of his military service and shared stories of his time in the South Pacific with his family and friends. After his retirement, he moved to Spring Hill, FL in 1988. He remained active with the VFW there, always honored to serve his military family.

Ernie was an avid golfer his entire life, a board member of Exeter and Heather Golf Clubs, and also enjoyed bowling and wood-­-working, making many beautiful projects for his close friends and family members. His gentle spirit and pleasant manner will be greatly missed.

Ernie was the son of the late Alfred and Helen Bottomley. He is predeceased by his wife Eleanor Hodkinson Bottomley and is survived by his three children; his daughter, Susan Kirk and her husband Robert Kirk, his son, David Bottomley, and daughter, Judy Dafoulas and her husband Kimon Dafoulas. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren; Daniel, Kosta, and Alex.

Services and internment will be private. Family will be notified.
