Erma McKeeman of Babson Park passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at her residence.
She was born December 16, 1919 in Ashland, OH to the late Carl & Myrtle (Lockhart) Beard; she came here in 1956 from Fort Wayne, IN. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She played golf, was an excellent seamstress and made band uniforms in the 1960's. She was a past member of the Quota Club, Babson Park Women's Club and worked at Highland Park Club for 16 years. She also worked for her family business, Grove Equipment Service for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the family cabin in the mountains.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Victor McKeeman, a son, Carl "Butch" McKeeman and a brother, Carl Beard. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Morgan of Babson Park; two sons, Donnie McKeeman of Babson Park and David McKeeman of Babson Park; a sister, Winona Gillispie of Lake Wales; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 8, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Family Life Center (16 North 3rd Street, Lake Wales, FL 33853).
