Emma Tabares

Emma Tabares of Frostproof passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born September 27, 1952 in Mexico; and came to Frostproof from Mexico 16 years ago. She was a self-employed seamstress, and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her husband, Federico Tabares of Texas; daughter, Miriam Gonzalez of Lake Wales; sons, Marco Tabares of Germany and Mario Tabares of Frostproof; father, Epitacio Marquez of Mexico; mother, Gregoria Lozaya of Mexico; sisters, Juana Melendez, Carmen Melendez, Ana Melendez, Alma Melendez, and Martha Melendez; brothers, Mauro Melendez, Frank Melendez, and Alfredo Melendez; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, with Father Jose Gonzalez officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
