LAKE WALES--Ellis E. “Butch” Johnson of Lake Wales died of heart failure Friday, January 26, 2007 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 58.

Born March 07, 1948 in Statesville, NC; he came to Polk County from Statesville in 1971. He was a self-employed painting contractor. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Statesville. He enjoyed restoring cars, fishing and meeting people, he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Johnson of Lake Wales; daughters, Laura Aleck of Lake Hamilton; Wendy Gayle Johnson of Statesville, NC; Wendy Renee Sims of Portland, TX; brother, Delmar “Buddy” Johnson of Statesville, NC; sisters, Mae Brown of Hickory, NC; Brenda Sue Harmon of Statesville, NC; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Funeral services and interment will follow under the direction of Chapman Funeral Home in Stony Point, NC. Family requests donations be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
