Ellen L. Peavy, a cherished homemaker, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on January 16, 1942, in Erwin, Tennessee, Ellen's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and the simple joys she embraced with warmth and grace.
Throughout her life, Ellen found happiness in the companionship of her beloved cats and the festive spirit of Christmas time. She delighted in engaging her mind with crossword puzzles, enjoyed the camaraderie of playing cards, and took comfort in watching old television shows, all of which reflected her gentle and thoughtful nature.
Ellen is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Paulette G. Holley and her companion Larry Munch of Bayfield, Wisconsin; Elaine Mimbs and her husband Mike of Lake Wales; and Judy Buxton of Lake Wales. Her sons also carry forward her legacy: Don L. Robbins, III and his wife Katie of Stafford, Virginia; Kenneth Lewis and his wife Rosalee of Lake Wales; Johnny Peavy and his wife Jane of Lake Wales; and Ricky Peavy and his wife Ann of Lake Wales. She was a devoted sister to Marie Tipton of Erwin, Tennessee.
Her family tree blossomed with 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther J. Peavy, Jr. and their daughter Alison Atkins, whose memories remain a treasured part of her enduring story.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on May 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 454 Buck Moore Road in Lake Wales, Florida. This service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew Ellen to come together in remembrance and gratitude for a well-lived life.
Ellen L. Peavy’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and the quiet strength of a woman who made her home a place of comfort and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who have the privilege to know her.
