ELIZABETH ANN EWERS

May 6, 1948 – November 27, 2024

Elizabeth Ann Ewers of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away peacefully in Lake Wales, Florida on November 27, 2024.  Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She endured a brief, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on May 6, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Rowe, she attended Johns Creek High School and Pikeville Presbyterian College where she met and married the love of her life, the late, Michael Ewers.  As a stay at-home mom, her children were the center of her life.  After seeing them off to college, she started her career in the insurance industry until retiring.

Known for her wit, laughter, and humor, she was adored by her three children, Kimberly Ewers Laird, Rebecca Ewers Blair and late son, John Deaton Ewers.  Additional survivors include her four beloved grandchildren, Emily Blair, Elizabeth Blair Fowler, Joshua Laird and Andrew Laird.  Ann also had many special relatives and friends that she held dear, such as her son-in law Andy Blair, grandson in-law, Jacob Fowler and late brother, Don Ed Rowe and Mable Childers son, Billy P. Rowe and beloved friend, Kathy Lambros.  She is also survived by loving sister in-laws, Sharon Kay Cox and Karen Gail Thacker, and niece and nephews, Shawndra Marrs, Mark Cox, and Scott Thacker.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 pm at Meta Baptist Church in Meta, Kentucky.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
