Elisabetta Persichetti of Indian Lake Estates, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at Life Care Center of Winter Haven at the age of 92.
Born on June 5, 1934, in Settefrati, Italy, to the late Antonio and Maria (Palladino) Monaco, Elisabetta carried her Italian heritage with pride throughout her life. She endured the hardships of World War II as a child and, after marrying the love of her life and welcoming her first daughter, immigrated to the Bronx, New York, in 1955. More than two decades and three more children later, in 1976, she moved her family to Indian Lake Estates, where she built a home centered on faith, family, and tradition. She was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales.
Elisabetta was fiercely strong-willed and unwavering in her dedication to her family. While she humbly supported her husband throughout their marriage, she was the steady force who kept the home, the family, and generations of traditions together. She raised children who grew into strong, loving adults and instilled in her family the values of resilience, loyalty, hard work, and unconditional love.
To call Elisabetta a homemaker only tells part of her story. She was the heart of her family and the quiet strength behind every gathering, every holiday, and every meal shared around her table. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she expressed her love through caring for those around her, always making sure no one left her home hungry. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and the unmistakable warmth of Italian hospitality.
She especially treasured time spent playing cards with family, but nothing brought a brighter smile to her face than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She celebrated every new addition to the family and found her greatest joy in watching the generations she helped build continue to grow.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pietro Persichetti, and by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Rudy Lombardi, and she is lovingly remembered alongside great-grandchildren whom the family had hoped to welcome.
She is survived by her sons, John Persichetti (Kim) of Lake Wales and Anthony Persichetti (Cherie) of Dunedin; her daughter, Anna Powell (Ronnie) of Indian Lake Estates; her 12 grandchildren: Christina Lorson; Amy Pletcher, Alex Persichetti, and Brandi Chaney; Ryan, Nicholas, Ross, and Joseph Persichetti; and Michael, Daniel, Thomas, and Steven Powell; and her 15 great-grandchildren: Luke, Olivia, and Jacob Lorson; Lea Pletcher; Colton Persichetti; Layni and Lukas Chaney; Macy, Jaxon, Lachlan, and Sailor Persichetti; Hunter and Adelynne Powell; and Jonathan and Preston Powell.
Her love, strength, traditions, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
