Elias Rivas

Elias Rivas of Frostproof passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his residence.

He was born May 25, 1931 in Mexico to the late Jesus Rivas and Andrea Vasquez; and came to Frostproof from Texas 33 years ago. He was retired from Sanchez Citrus picking oranges, and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Elva Garcia; daughters, Diana Rojas of Frostproof, Socorro Rivas of Naples, Juana Rivas of Naples, Lety Rodriguez of San Antonio, TX, Elva Reyna of Frostproof, Esmeralda Rivas of Frostproof, Andrea Rivas of Frostproof, Gloria Garcia of Frostproof, and Laura Rivas of Frostproof; sons, Felipe Rivas of Frostproof, Mario Rivas of Frostproof, and Jesus Rivas of Frostproof; 100 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2011, and the Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof.
