LAKE WALES -- Mr. Eldridge Clemons of Lake Wales died of heart failure Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2006) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 71.

Born in Largo on Aug. 23, 1934, he came to Lake Wales from there 58 years ago. He was a retired truck driver for Alcoma Packing. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Mr. Clemons is survived by his wife, Mary A. Clemons; daughter, Tereasa Clemons, Lake Wales; sons, Joseph Clemons, McElister, Okla., Darrell E. Clemons, Lake Wales; brothers, Herschel Clemons, Brooksville, J.C. Clemons, Lake Wales; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
