LAKE WALES -- Mr. Elden Kerts Tippin of Lake Wales died of heart failure Wednesday (March 15, 2006) at home. He was 88.

Born in Wheeler, Mich., on May 29, 1917, he came to Lake Wales from Michigan, 29 years ago. He was a retired instrument inspector for Dow Chemical Container in Midland, Mich. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended South Lake Wales Church of God where he was a volunteer.

Mr. Tippin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Abbie "Ella" Tippin; son, Robert Tippin, Anderson, Ind.; sister, Edna Clark, Alma, Mich.; four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 this afternoon at South Lake Wales Chruch of God.

Memorials may be made to South Lake Wales Church of God for Murphy Family Missionaries to Haiti.
