Elaine Yurk Scharer

Scharer, Elaine J. - Age 83, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint, and seasonal resident of Winterhaven, FL., passed away unexpectedly at home on November 27, 2023.

Elaine was born July 22, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of Jacob and Linda (Spaedl) Friesorger. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. Elaine was an organist at North Baptist Church for many years. She had a passion for music, particularly the piano and organ, and enjoyed spending time at her Lake Huron summer home. Elaine worked and retired from the city of Flint after 15 years.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Janine) Yurk of Grand Blanc, Gale Ewers of Flint, Glen (Noemi) Scharer of Winter Haven, Florida, Lois Durrett of Saint Cloud, Florida; grandchildren, Shelby (Nick) Raymond, Jacob (Samantha) Yurk, Jessi (Ali) Blackwell, Katie (Derek) Nutter, Amber Branstetter, and Geoffrey Branstetter; great-grandchildren, Waylon Raymond, Kiera Jenkins, Kennedy Nutter and Zadok Branstetter. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, David Scharer and her parents.
