Eileen "Ma" Ryska

August 5, 1930 — March 8, 2017

Eileen “Ma” Ryska

Passed away on 3/8/17 after many bouts of pneumonia and congestive heart failure, yet never lost her sense of humor or determination.

Eileen was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 5, 1930. She is preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Anthony Ryska.

Eileen owned Dingmans Bar from 1971–1978 and became well known in the area. Eileen was very instrumental in the legacy of the “Breakfast in the Woods.”

The last 7 years she worked as a volunteer at the Fraternal Order of Eagles on M-72.

Eileen spent 45 years up north and loved it. She made many friends, which her daughters knew as her “up-north family.” In October 2015 Eileen became ill and her daughters relocated her to Florida to be with them. Her family is so very blessed that she had so many friends that looked out for her.

Eileen is survived by her two daughters Lorna (Michael) Slowik and Nancy (Ves) Spindler; four Grandchildren: Marlene, Keith (Kristen), Christopher (Lori) and Shawn (Elysa) and seven Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in May, site and date to be determined. In honor of Eileen, donations may be made to Fraternal Order of Eagles, 15854 M-72 W, Grayling, MI 49738.
