Eileen Grabis-Gibson

Eileen Grabis-Gibson of Lake Wales passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at her residence.

She was born November 22, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John Francis Ryan, Jr. and Eileen Murphy Ryan; she came here from Queens, NY in 1989. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was active in civic groups, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boater's Safety Training and U.S. Coast Guard Academy Admission's Program. She was a member of the IATSE Local 631 & 835 since 1989.

Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, John F. Ryan III. Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Gibson; sister, Judy Gjertsen (Don) of East Thomaston, ME; sister-in-law, Andrea Ryan; nieces, Lee Malone (Scott) and Dina Gjertsen (John Galvin); nephew, John Ryan (Katie).

Memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Anthony Bluett officiating. The family has requested donations in lieu of flowers to the Richard F. Walsh Foundation (1430 Broadway, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10018).
