Effie Lee Hare

Effie L. Hare, 95 of Tampa, Florida passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Palm Garden of Clearwater.

She was born May 9, 1919 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late John and Dulla (Gorum) Johnson and has been a resident of the area since 2007 coming from Trenton, Florida and was of the Baptist faith. In 1939 Effie married the love of her life Horace W. Hare Sr. (greyhound driver for 40 years). They were married 60 years until his death in 1999. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most of all time with family and friends especially at the holidays. Our lives have been touched by her good spirit and witty charm. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Horace, Sisters Hattie Corley, Ethel Callahan, Lois Watson, Christine Carter, Leo Johnson brothers Clifford Johnson, Aubrey Johnson and granddaughter Jessica.

She is survived by her 3 sons Ronald F. Hare and wife Barbara of Tampa, FL, Horace W. Hare Jr and wife Dianna of Holiday, FL, John T. Wall and wife Margie of Tenn., 6 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with visitation 10:00am until service time. Interment will be held at Lake Wales Cemetery.
