Edward Richard Fazekas, 54
Edward Richard Fazekas of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales from a valiant battle with Covid-19.
He was born December 2, 1966 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was raised in New Jersey where he lived until attending Glassboro State College. After he attended college, he began his employment as a Corrections Officer in Brandon, Florida, then a Polk County Sheriffs Officer. Edward was then employed by Lady Lake Police Department where he became a Sergeant. He then began his employment at for the Walt Disney Company. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed reading and astronomy. He was a fan of the New York Rangers ice hockey team and the Dallas Cowboys. He collected train memorabilia and his hobbies included metal detecting, going to flea markets, gaming, cooking, attending air shows, and visiting Disney on his days off. He was a caring friend, loving father, great brother, and devoted husband. Overall, Edward enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, John Fazekas. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Lisa M. Fazekas of Lake Wales; daughters, Gabrielle Fazekas of Lake Wales, and Sarah Fazekas of Bushnell; stepdaughters, Natalie Plummer of Winter Haven, and Brandie Humphrey of Winter Haven; stepsons, Noah Plummer of Lake Wales, and Brent Younger of Winter Haven; mother, Anne Fazekas of South River, New Jersey; siblings, Anne Marie Nygard, John Fazekas, Audrey Schmidt, Jim Fazekas, Kathleen Perry, Michael Fazekas, Joanne Kimmel, and Joseph Fazekas; 11 nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren.
A private prayer service will be held.
