Edward E. Braxton

Edward E. Braxton of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born June 20, 1948 in Haines City to the late Aldridge Lee Braxton and Mary Lois Daughtery Braxton; and he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was the owner/operator of South Gate BP for 30 years and a member of the Church of Christ. His hobbies were working, hunting, fishing, football and running the station.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley P. Braxton. Survivors include his daughters, Melody Braxton of Lake Wales and Charity Braxton of Lake Wales; sisters, Elaine Spurlack of Auburndale, Elizabeth Eledge of Auburndale, Mary Branch of Clermont, Betty Anglin of Bartow and Shirley Durham of Alabama; brothers, Leon Braxton of Bartow and Aldridge Braxton of Ocala; and one grandson, Clinton Acreman of Lake Wales.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. John Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
