Edward Lee Blodgett

Edward L. "Mr. Ed" Blodgett, 84 of Haines City, Florida passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

He was born on September 27, 1930 in Vevay, Indiana to the late Maurice Lee and Mable Elizabeth Peters Blodgett and he has been a resident of this area since 1967 moving here from Indiana. He was a truck driver and was a member of the Golfview Baptist Church. Edward was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Greensburg, Indiana and was a member of the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Blodgett and sons, Edward Lee Blodgett, Jr and Maurice Wayne Blodgett.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda "Leigh" DeJoe and husband George of Haines City ; daughter-n-law, Linda Sue Blodgett of Apex, NC; Fiance', Betty P. Davis of Haines City; sister, Maxine Loftin of Haines City, Sharon Platt of Winter Haven; brothers, Paul V. Blodgett of Cincinnati, OH, Ben Blodgett of Greensburg, IN, Michael Blodgett of Bryant,AL; 3 grandchildren, Christopher and wife Megan, Tara and Husband Jason, Shane and wife Jennifer; 6 great grandchildren, Dylan, Marcus, Jonah, Wesley, Haley and Taylor.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at the Lake Wales Cemetery with Rev. David Koon officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 6 until 8 P.M. at Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
The Order of the Eastern Star service will begin at 6:00 P.M.
