Edna W Buxton

Edna W. “MeMa” Buxton, 83, of Lakeland, Florida passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 22, 1931 in Lake Wales, Florida to the late Horace and LouElla Rivers Ward where she has been a lifelong resident. She was a Homemaker. Edna was a girls’ softball coach, Girl Scout leader, she was a member of the Polk Avenue Elementary PTA, enjoyed her family time, she was an avid reader and a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Buxton in 1994
Survivors include her daughter, Jill Cheatham and husband, Bob of Lakeland, FL; son, David Buxton and wife, Judy of Lake Wales; brother, Ray Ward and wife, Phyllis of Lake Wales; 5 grandchildren, Tracy Hannah and husband Chris, Dana Buxton, Blair Banas and husband Brian, Brittany Cheatham and Fiancé Clay, Kristyn Cheatham and Fiancé Ryan; 3 great grandchildren, Hanna, Lennox and Madden.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Lake Wales Cemetery with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
