He was born April 9, 1922, in small town of Waubun, Mn., son of late George and Anna (kozlik) Chloupek. At age 2 his parents moved to Milwaukee, WI. A former resident of Germantown, Wi. and Lake Wales, Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Betty Price and Marion Wehr, daughter Mary. Survived by daughter Linda Burns and son-in-law Robert Burns. Step children Lawrence (Lynn) Knedle, Joseph (Judy) Knedle, Karen (Robert) Michalski, Karol (Patrick) Docter, Sharon Knedle, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends, especially Louie & Jean Jondreau. During Junior & Senior high school years (Solomon & Juneau) he weeded onions, picked strawberries at Tesch farms (pocket money). Bought a 1927 mdl "A" Ford at a junkyard, Graduated in June, 1941 and immediately got a job at Cutter Hammer until WWII changed his life. Enlisted in Marine Corp, 1942, served from 1942-45, Pacific Theater, 2 1/2 years with 3rd Marine Div. & Third Marine Amphib FMF. Re-enlisted 9th Marine Reserves. Since childhood art was always his passion. While overseas created cartoons on faces of envelopes for relatives & friends, some published. Following discharge he was employed at PPG Industries, retired in 1984. Was active in VFW for many years. Life member City of West Allis VFW Post #1912 where he served at appointed & elected chairs including Post Commander, 1972-73. Also appointed chairs with VFW District 4 and co-chairman Voice of Democracy (VOD) with VFW Dept of Wisconsin. Charter member Loper Wisconsin Chapter, 3rd Marine Assoc., Life member Marine Corps League, Marine Badger Detachment #348, Florida Chapter 3rd Marine Div. Assoc. Enjoyed being active with kids VFW programs. Organized VFW Post #1912 Junior Bowling League & Voice of Democracy programs, local & state. Won several ribbons for art work local & national. Designed Cover & inserts for VFW Post #1912 which won 1st place at a VFW National Convention. Member Bob Ross Art Club. Hand - Built a new home in Germantown, Wi, in 1951, relocated back to new home in Milwaukee, Wi 1961. Pulled roots in late 1990's to new home at Natures Edge Community in Lake Wales, Fl. Found new love of friends, area & activities. He was a member of St. Therese, Milwaukee, Wi., usher society for 12 years. Usher at Holy Spirit Lake Wales, FL., for 14 years. No local services will be held.
