Dwayne Michael Hunter, 66, of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

Dwayne was born November 18, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa and came to Lake Wales in 1980. He was the owner and operator of A-1 Hunter Business Machines and most recently worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Winter Haven. Dwayne was a member of the South Lake Wales Church of God where he was an active participant in the church choir and praise team. He enjoyed building and racing stock cars, watching sports, and singing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Clyde Hunter and stepson Steven McCann Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Hunter; mother, Leota Hunter; brother Eston and Diane Hunter; nieces Claudia and Karen Faunt; children and grandchildren, Debra Platt; Kimberely Hunter, Brent, Elizabeth, Tristan; Lt. Col. Michael and Pong Hunter, Dwayne II, David; Linda McCann; Debra and Bill Pittack, Daniel, Emily, Sara Anne; Michelle and Rene' Gonzalez; Roger and Amy Blevins; Julie Ogelby, Natalie, Christina Joy; Steven and Christa McCann Jr., Michael McCann, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, January 15th at 11am at South Lake Wales Church of God with Rev. Bob Beckler officiating.
