Dudley John Loft

Dudley J. Loft of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring.

He was born June 6, 1930 in Essex, England to the late Frederick John & Marjorie Ruth (Barnett) Loft; and he came here from Buffalo, NY in 1989. He was the host at The Gift Mill, worked at Cypress Gardens and was a dinner boat Captain. He also served in the British Army and loved reading.

Dudley was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Popielarz. Survivors include his wife, Velma E. "Val" Loft; daughter, Linda Loft of Idaho; sons, Dudley J. Loft, Jr. (Jack) of Hamburg, NY and James "Jim" Elliott Schreck of Reston, VA; brother, Michael J. Loft of Houston, TX; sister, Jennifer Heym of Litchfield, CT; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales with Father Thomas C. Seitz, Jr officiating.
