Dudley H. “Dud” Clark of Lake Wales passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale.

Born May 12, 1920 in Dublin, GA; he came here in 1989 from Jacksonville. He was a retired salesman for Chevron Oil Co., a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Wales, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was active in Savannah and was named mayor of Savannah Court by the other residents.

Dud was preceded by his wife, Dena M. Clark in 1988, two brothers, Cecil and Robert, and two sisters, Faye and Demettress. Survivors include his son, Dudley H. Clark Jr. of Junction City, OR, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and extended family, Rick, Susie, Meagan, Matt and Dorian McGill all of Lake Wales.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 until service time at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church, Forward in Faith Fund, Post Office Box 552, Lake Wales, FL 33859.
