Drina Park

Drina (Derri) Park from Lake Wales, Florida crossed the finish line of her race on earth Tuesday March 21st; Passing from death to eternal life where she now laughs, eats, rides, and lives in wide eyed wonder and unspeakable splendor with the love of her life; Jesus. She ran a great race.

She was born September 4, 1953 to Drina and William Parkey. She is survived by her parents, two sisters, brother, three children, four grandchildren, her husband, and the rest of the world that so desperately needs the kindness that she so freely gave.

Derri invited Jesus Christ to be the Lord of her life as a teenager and spent the next 46 years learning the cost of that commitment and the lessons that He had to teach her before calling her home. She loved God with her whole heart and loved others as she loved God. The kindness and patience she had for everyone left our world a better place.

A lifelong educator, teacher, and administrator she dedicated her life to working with the children and parents of those who had special needs and training the next generation of educators that relationships were more important than results and the means were more important than the ends.

We invite family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, classmates, and all who knew and loved her to attend a memorial service at the Performing Arts Center located on the campus of the Vanguard School in Lake Wales, Florida, on Saturday April 1st starting at 11:00am.

Bring stories, songs, and memories to share and be prepared to be blessed as we celebrate her life.

Her final resting place will be where Jesus led her at the end of her earthly life-among friends in Lake Wales, Florida. Donations may be made in her honor to the Derri Park Equestrian Scholarship Fund at the Vanguard School in Lake Wales, Florida.
