Douglas Bibb Hickman

Douglas Bibb Hickman, 87 of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born March 15, 1926 in Banks, Alabama to the late Grady and Alma (Sikes) Hickman and has been a resident of the area since 1929 moving here form Alabama. Douglas was retired from the Lake Wales Medical Center in Maintenance. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea serving in the US Navy and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hickman, daughters, Gale D. Norris of Louisiana, Candice Miles of Bate City, Mo, Carolyn Bullard of Douglasville, Ga, Mary James of Brunswick, Ga, Karen Williams of Villa-Rica, Ga; sons, Timothy A. Hickman of Dade City, FL, Shane Hickman of Lake Wales, Shannon Hickman of Lake Wales; brother, Ray E. Hickman of Cocoa, FL, many Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
