LAKE WALES--Dorothy E. “Dot” Staton, 69, of Lake Wales died of heart failure Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born December 04, 1937 in Cullman County, AL; she came to Lake Wales in 1958. She was a cook for several local restaurants including Doc’s Drive Inn, Sea Queen, Sand’s Restaurant and Webb’s. She enjoyed family times, bingo and was an avid Elvis fan. She was very proud of having a pinecone from Elvis’ estate ‘Graceland’.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Kopp of Lake Wales; sons, Wayne E. Staton of Lake Wales; Steven M. Staton of Lake Wales; brother, Daniel Sweatman of Cullman, AL; sister, Lily Stowe of Hayti, MO; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
