WAVERLY--Dorothy Lee Stanland, 81, of Waverly went home to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, October 19, 2007 due to heart failure at Auburndale Oaks.

Born April 15, 1926 in Cocoa, FL; she came to Waverly in 1963. She was a grader for Waverly Growers and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waverly. She was a girl scout as a child and was an avid reader.

Dorothy was preceded by her husband, Norman Stanland; parents, Maurice & Ella King; and sister, Rene Connell. Survivors include her daughter, Linda H. Myers of Lake Alfred; sons, Curtis Crawford of Auburndale; Floyd Harnage of Indianapolis, IN; step-children, Norma Keller of Plaino, TX; Mickey Stanland of Waverly; sisters, Faye Hyde of Auburndale; Maurceil Sinclair of Maitland; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Lake Wales Cemetery, Lake Wales.
