LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Dorothy Hoopes Myers of Lake Wales died of heart failure Friday (May 5, 2006) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 86.

Born Jan. 12, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Myers moved to Lake Wales from Masontown, Pa., in 1988. She operated a golf course. She served in the Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary at Post 747, Port Marion, Pa. She served as president of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 310, Hallandale. She was an Episcopalian.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband, Charles R. Myers, Lake Wales.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.
