Dorothy Louise Smith

Dorothy Louise Smith of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born September 16, 1921 in Hillsborough County, FL to the late Cecil B. & Sally (Sweat) Whidden; and came here from Manatee County, FL in 1947. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Hinton Smith; one daughter, Louise Elizabeth Hall; and two sisters, Delores Glover and Doris Susan Harrison. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Jean Respress of Frostproof; two sons, Allen Alfred Smith of Frostproof and Cecil David Smith of South Carolina; one brother, Harney Cecil Whidden; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
