Dorothy "Dot" Turner

Dorothy J. “Dot” Turner of Babson Park passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 23, 1931 in Lincoln, Michigan to the late Harold and Jennie Mahurin; she has been a resident of the area since 1965 coming from St. Augustine. She was a deli manager for Publix. Dot enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and making crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Turner; sister, Eva Mae Sparks; and brother, Buzz Mahurin. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer (Jenni) Stanley and husband, Tom of Frostproof, Luana Scott and husband, Bobby of Deland, Janice Strange of Port St. Lucie and Roseanna Strange of CA; sons, Mike Mimbs and wife, Elaine of Lake Wales, Charles Strange and wife, Thereasa of North Port and Martin Strange and wife, Sonia of Michigan; sister, Joyce Ketterman of Salina, OK; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Those who wish may make donations to Good Shepherd Hospice at 105 Arneson Avenue Auburndale, FL 33823. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Teresa Turner officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
