Dorothy Louise Bullington, 97

Dorothy Louise Bullington of Okeechobee passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at her residence.

She was born January 9, 1924 in Wauchula to the late David and Ethel Moon. Dorothy worked as a waitress until she retired at the age of 70. She was formerly a member of the Church on the Hill in Dundee and recently was attending The Gathering of Okeechobee. Dorothy was an avid volunteer in the church and loved to garden vegetables and flowers with her green thumb. She lived her life for her children and grandchildren and loved to cook for the entire family, her chicken and dumplings were a family favorite.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Bullington in 1997; daughter, Debbie Vanderbilt; sisters, Sue Gillman, Pauline Hughes, Mary Johnson, and Juanita Dobson; and brothers, Bill Moon, Allen Moon, Calvin Moon, Paul Moon, and Gene Moon. She is survived by her sons, Tim Bullington and wife Cindy of North Carolina, Tony Bullington and wife Marie of Okeechobee, and Roger Gurganus and wife Susan of Avon Park; ten grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Church on the Hill in Dundee. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.
