Donnie Mckeeman

Donnie McKeeman of Babson Park passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born September 24, 1947 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Robert Victor and Erma (Beard) McKeeman; he grew up in the area and returned after his retirement 10 years ago. He retired as an airline mechanic after 32 years from Delta Airlines, was of the Presbyterian faith and a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a scout for Buffalo Soldiers in a Civil War re-enactment and enjoyed playing guitar and sailing. He was also a Bob Dylan and Jimmy Buffett fan.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl "Butch" McKeeman. Survivors include his daughter, Joslynn Celeste Rose (Sam) of Newnan, GA; sons, Darren Paul McKeeman of San Francisco, CA and Kevin David McKeeman of Babson Park; sister, Sharon Morgan of Babson Park; brother, David McKeeman (Patty) of Babson Park; and three grandchildren, Christopher Joseph "CJ" Jennings, Anabelle McKeeman and Kagan McKeeman.

Memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with the family receiving friends from 2:00 pm until the service.
