Donna M. Wolfe

Donna M. Wolfe of Lake Wales passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at her residence following a battle with cancer.

She was born May 1, 1932 in Lorain, OH to the late Sheldon Vern and Ruth Belle (Baldwin) Hakes. After living in Miami for many years, she came to Lake Wales from New York in 2000. Mrs. Wolfe was a retired school board secretary. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales and was in the Esther Woman's Circle. She served as President over all the circles, and Choir Director. She also served as choir director for churches in Miami, Key Largo, and New York. She was a former volunteer for the American Red Cross teaching swimming and life guard safety.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jack Wolfe of Lake Wales; daughters, Kathy Ellis of Lewisville, TX, Karol (James) Yeatts of Warner University, Lake Wales, Karen (Dale) Coone of Tavernier, Kristy White of Houston, TX; sisters, Faye Shane of IN, Roberta McGreevy of OH, Elaine Teutsch of Rockledge, FL; brother, Robert Hakes of Marietta, GA; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Wales. For those who wish, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Department.
