Donald Keith Pickett

Donald Keith Pickett, 61 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Lake Wales Medical Center. He was born on December 10, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia to Donald Dean and Rose Earlene (Ogle) Pickett and he has been a resident of this area for 7 years moving here from Orlando. He was a Chef for Florida Southern College. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando where he served as a deacon and attended the South Lake Wales Church of God where he served as an usher. He was a proud member of the Republican Party and volunteered for many Campaigns. He was a Civil War Historian and most importantly he was a devoted son to his mother. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dean Pickett in 2009 Survivors include his mother, Earlene O. Pickett of Lake Wales; sisters, DeLynn Imel and husband Eric of Winter Haven, FL, Kareen Pickett of Lake Wales; brother, Howard E. Pickett and wife Mary Ann of San Francisco, CA; niece, Alexandra Pickett of Los Angeles, nephew, Tommy Pickett of Los Angeles. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM at the South Lake Wales Church of God with Rev. Chad Tingley, Rev. Larry Locke and Dr. Michael Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Lake Wales Church of God Widows Fund.
