Donald Shirey McCoy, 84, of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Dove Nursing Center.

Donald was born in Cottonwood, AL on March 30, 1923. His life was his family and his church. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, a deacon and church treasurer for many, many years. After 35 years with FMC he retired from FMC and enjoyed life farming and fishing and working with bees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, General and Dora McCoy; two sisters, Beatrice Prevatt and Mildred Riddley; five brothers, Carl, Robert, Clifton, Earl and Ray. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilouise; a daughter, Donna Reynolds of Winter Haven; a son, Dennis McCoy of Lake Wales; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Our thanks to Cornerstone Hospice, who gave such good care to our loved one.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Sam Quinn and Elder E.L. Johns officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
