Dolores A. Knudsen, 85

Dolores Ann Dauch Knudsen of Frostproof, Florida passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at home in the care of her loving family. She was born September 5, 1931 in Waterbury, Ct to the late John C. and Gertrude (Schwartz) Dauch. She has lived in Lake Wales then Frostproof since 1990.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Robert C. Knudsen and her brother Robert Dauch.

She is survived by her 5 children: Donna Spellman of Greenwood, WV; Ellen Knudsen and husband Glen Blevin of Woodbury, CT; Robert C. Knudsen and wife Mary of Greenwood, WV; Lee Knudsen and wife Ramona of Lake Wales, FL and John Theron Knudsen of Frostproof, FL., 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Dolores grew up in Bethlehem Ct, spending many long hours on Long Meadow Pond. She served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, stationed at the Pentagon and in Heidelberg, Germany. Married in 1953 she and Bob operated Hemlock Kennels from 1960-1975. Moving to Greenwood, WV in 1975. Dolores worked at the Doddridge County Medical Center as a LPN for several years. She also started her crafting of cut and pierce lampshades exhibited at juried shows in West Virginia and Florida.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, sewing, homemaking and spending time with family, friends and her cat, Hush.

Memorial Service will be held at the family cemetery on November 26, 2016.
