Teacher's Aide

Denise Rochelle Pipkin, 42, of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at her residence.

Born April 30, 1965 in Harbor City, CA; she came here from Rialto, CA in 1991. She was a teacher’s aide for Lifepath Solutions, currently working at Ridge Vocational Technical Institute. She is also a former employee of the Lake Wales Y.M.C.A.; and was a member and very active in First Baptist Church. She was the A.W.A.N.A. director, leader of children’s church, active in the kitchen ministries, among other activities. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, visiting the Carolinas, family reunions, Blue’s music cruises, bowling and scrap-booking.

Survivors include her husband, Shannon Pipkin of Lake Wales; sons, Ryan R. and wife, Laura, Sorbet of Lake Wales and Dylan J. Pipkin of Lake Wales; father, Robert Sorbet Jr of Yucaipa, CA; mother, Florence “Flo” Powell of Dallas, TX; brother, Brett R. and wife, Carolyn, Sorbet of Phelan, CA; and sister, Julie Lynn Sorbet and husband, Pete Stolle of Las Vegas, NV.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
