Debbie Gertrude Scarborough was born on March 14, 1937, in Walton County, Florida, and passed away on April 9, 2026. She made her home in Lake Wales, Florida, and also lived in Walton County and Polk County during her lifetime.

Debbie was a graduate of high school and spent her working years as a fruit grader in the citrus industry. She was known as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a Christian conservative, and a woman who honored and supported her family throughout her life. She worked a regular job until the age of 84, reflecting her strength, dedication, and steady character.

She is survived by her sons, David, Carl, Dale Holbrook, James Thornton, and Tommy Collins. She was preceded in death by John and Jean Scarborough. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Sheena Cooper, Jesse Holbrook, Mason Thornton, Tori Clenney, CJ Thornton, Star, and Hawk Holbrook.

Debbie was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 233 Burns Ave, Lake Wales, FL 33853. Her family and loved ones remember her as a woman of faith who cherished her family and lived with devotion to the Lord.

Funeral Announcement

A service honoring the life of Debbie Gertrude Scarborough will be held on May 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Original Lake Wales Cemetery. Debbie was cremated and will be buried at the foot of her mother’s grave. Loved ones are encouraged to attend and pay their final respects.

Pastor Roger Hagen of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church will provide the remembrance sermon.
