Dayanara Ortiz Nieves of Lakeshore passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales.

She was born May 29, 1993 in Puerto Rico; she moved to Lake Wales four years ago. Dayanara was a Nutritional Assistant for the Polk County School District. She enjoyed going to the beach and hosting friends and family. She was an excellent baker and an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and an unbreakable faith in Christ Jesus.

Dayanara is survived by her wife of three years, Kayla Davila Collazo; father, Ruben Ortiz of Puerto Rico; mother, Angela Nieves-Elizabeth of New Jersey; sister, Yelixa Nieves of Sanford, and Gianna Ortiz; brothers, Giordano Ortiz of Puerto Rico, Caleb Collazo of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Kenette Nieves of Elizabeth, New Jersey; and furbabies, Rocket and Luna.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
