Dawn Irene Martinez, 72

Dawn Irene Martinez of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her residence.

She was born March 14, 1949 in Cortland, New York; she moved to Lake Wales from New York 48 years ago. Dawn was a retired waitress and was of the Christian faith. She loved shopping and being around her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Robert Eccleston in 2020; son, Robbie Martinez in 2019; and brother, Ivan Eccleston in 1969. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Baudel Martinez; daughters, Alicia Martinez of Lake Wales, and Angela Nowling and husband Grant of Lake Wales; son, Juan Martinez, Sr. and wife Jessica of Lake Wales; mother, Dorothy Schlesinger; sisters, Yvonne Parizo and husband Richard of New Port Richey; step-sisters, Jan, Connie, Linda, and Chris; step-mother, Mary Eccleston of New York; five grandchildren, Juan, Jr., Maleeya, Javier, Dominik, and Danika; and extended family in New York, Texas, and Mexico..

A visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Robert McLean officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
