David Kent Wiechart

David Kent (Dave) Wiechart, 79, of Lake Wales, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 19, 1943, in Delphos, Ohio to Lewis and Frances ‘Fran' (Standiford) Wiechart, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death, by brothers, Stan Wiechart, Allyn Wiechart and Phillip Wiechart. On November 20, 1965, he married Pamela (Geimer) Wiechart, and she survives in Lake Wales. Dave is survived by his children, Kelly (José) Wiechart of Bethesda, MD, and Kent (Maricela) Wiechart, grandsons, Nicolas, Michael, and Lucas Wiechart of Houston, Texas; as well as brother Tom (Sue) Wiechart; sisters, Darlene Martin, Janet Grothause, and Ruth (Jack) Roller; sisters-in-law, Karen Kritchfield, Elaine Wiechart and Myra Wiechart, and cherished nieces and nephews.

Dave was a 1962 graduate of Delphos St. John's High School. Dave was retired from the Delphos Fire Department. He also served as an officer at the Eagles and worked at the Delphos Senior Citizens Center. After moving to Florida, he worked at the Lake Wales Country Club. He was an active member of his local community volunteering in the Men’s Club and leading the Horseshoe Club and Emergency Response Team.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Luis Osorio officiating. Inurnment will be held at the Lake Wales Memorial Gardens following the service.
