BABSON PARK--David H. Olmstead of Babson Park, Florida died due to an aneurysm Wednesday (Oct. 04, 2006) at the Lake Wales Medical Center in Lake Wales, Florida. He was 71.

Born April 03, 1935 in Webster City, Iowa; he has been a winter resident for seven years and moved to Babson Park two years ago. He is a retired Bookkeeper/Office Manager for The Pet Stop in Marion, Iowa. He also worked for Farmstead Foods for 19 years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was of the Protestant faith, an avid fisherman, enjoyed his family time and playing cards. He was a loving husband and father of strong values.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Olmstead of Babson Park, FL; daughters, Cindy & Rick Ritchison of Babson Park, FL; Valerie Reed of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Kathy & Scott Crosby of Robins, Iowa; Linda Vickery of Memphis, Tennessee; son, David Allen & Dawn Olmstead of Hiawatha, Iowa; brother, Lloyd Olmstead of Garnavillo, Iowa; sisters, Virginia Long of Marion, Iowa; Janet Merta of Marion, Iowa; Sandra Svoboda of Marion, Iowa; 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Local memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 09, 2006 at Bob’s Landing in Babson Park, FL. Memorial services will also be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion, Iowa.
