David Forrest Newell, born on January 21, 1952, in Princeton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 27, 2026. He loved Jesus with all his heart and was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones deeply.
David proudly served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His love for flying stayed with him, alongside his passions for the outdoors and teaching others. He dedicated much of his professional life as a Department Manager at Omaha Printing Company, where he worked with care and commitment.
Family was at the heart of David’s life. He shared 49 years of marriage with his wife, Bonita Newell. Together, they raised two children: Nita Lynne Stalnaker, who lives in Winter Haven with her husband Philip, and Jesse David Newell, who resides in Antioch, Tennessee, with his wife Rachel. David found joy in his grandchildren, Nari, Maggie, and Kayden, who brought light to his later years. David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Anita Newell, and his twin brother, Edward Francis Newell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., at Lake Wales Alliiance Church (325 North Buck Moore Road, Lake Wales, FL). Another opportunity to celebrate the life of David Newell will be held on August 1, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
