David Crosby

David Crosby of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at his residence.

He was born August 26, 1933 in Canal Point, FL to the late David W. Crosby & Agnes P. Benton Prine; and he came here from Indian River County in 1940. He was a self-employed mechanic, a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Navy.

David was preceded in death by his father, David W. Crosby; mother, Agnes Prine; step-father, Dexter Prine; sister, Myrtle Crosby Arnold; sister, Elizabeth Prine Albritton; and granddaughter, Della A. Williams. Survivors include his wife Joelyn Crosby; five daughters, Rita Ann Crosby of Frostproof, Leta Jan Clements of Frostproof, Nita Lynn Deal of Frostproof, Ginger Lea Spence of Frostproof and Tina Lorraine Scali of Frostproof; three sisters, Marie Brinson of Fort Meade, Mary Louise Register of Virginia and Shirley Jackson of Frostproof; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; “Poppy” to many.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Heath Woolman and Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
